Miss Heaven – Portraits Around the House

With single digit temps and below-zero expected over the weekend, there is no chance for us to get outside for photo time. I found today that we can make the most out of what we have around the house and still get great photos!

Miss Heaven loves the camera and is always more than willing to pose for me. Once I let her loose to show off her personality, she just goes! She loves making funny expressions and looking at her photos afterwards.

Here’s a few we snapped around the house today. Camera & processing details below.

Mirrors almost always make for sweet photo opportunities.

Any open floor works when shooting from above.
A simple dining room chair makes a cute prop. Processed in b&w to remove the color mismatches & distractions.
Being silly!

Try different angles.

And fun expressions! (She did this all by herself)

She didn’t need coaching on these great poses. She came up with plenty on her own!

Something so simple as a bunk bed ladder makes a sweet frame.

Photo Details: Nikon D3300 in Manual w/the 50mm @ f/3.2, 1/125, ISO 100 using the flash bounced off the ceiling in most of these. Shot in RAW and processed in PSE 12 w/actions from The Coffee Shop Blog: Portrait Toolbox 2.0 and Pure B&W.

Don’t let the winter weather keep you from taking fun photos!
