Project 365 – Day 39

So wow…I just noticed that tomorrow marks 40 days of my project 365. Progress, progress!

Today was themed in pink but I didn’t get any photos that fit that until the end of the evening when the girls and I sat down to work on their Valentine’s day cards for school.

They both picked Hello Kitty for their class. Working on two kindergarten classes at once, we had cards and stickers covering the dining room table!

I must say I’m very happy that they are big enough to write all the names themselves! lol.

Aside from the 365, I practiced another self-portrait as well today. I wanted to focus on my cross necklace because it’s pretty much the only necklace I own and a constant reminder of my faith in Jesus. I was also wearing my favorite bracelet today, so I decided to combine the two. I didn’t have time until after dinner to practice. At first I tried in the living room but the carpet & wall were oh-so-boring! I remembered that we have the textured block in the basement and thought that would make a better background. After getting into the playroom/everything room, I saw the florescent lights in this one spot that I had totally forgotten about. I turned out all the other lights, set up my tripod, grabbed my remote and went at it.

This is the one I was most happy with. The cross was hard to keep noticeable with only the overheard light. I did a little brightening in post to help it stand out.

I don’t know if I will ever really get comfortable shooting self-portraits, but this is a start.

Happy Sunday and hope you all have a great week! Thanks for stopping by.
